Hardy uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to understand how people use the site. We do not use cookies for advertising or to track you across other websites.
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. They help websites remember information about your visit, like your sign-in status and preferences. Hardy also uses "local storage," which works similarly but can hold more data.
Here is a complete list of the cookies and local storage items Hardy uses:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Local storage | Keeps you signed in so you don't have to enter a code every time you visit | Until you sign out or your session expires |
| hardy_user_token | Local storage | Stores your authentication session | Until you sign out |
| hardy_message_listing | Local storage | Remembers which listing you were messaging about when navigating between pages | Until cleared |
| hardy_auth_redirect | Local storage | Remembers where to send you after signing in | Until used |
| _ga, _ga_* | Cookie | Google Analytics: helps us understand how people use Hardy (pages visited, time on site). Data is anonymized. | Up to 2 years |
The authentication items (sb-*-auth-token, hardy_user_token, hardy_auth_redirect, hardy_message_listing) are necessary for Hardy to function. Without them, you would need to sign in on every page visit and could not use messaging. These cannot be disabled.
Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) help us understand how people use Hardy so we can improve the experience. These cookies do not identify you personally. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Hardy does not use any advertising cookies or tracking pixels. The only third-party cookies come from Google Analytics, as described above. We do not allow any other third parties to set cookies through our site.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
Please note that blocking essential cookies will prevent Hardy from working properly — you will not be able to stay signed in.
If we add new cookies or change how we use them, we will update this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via email or a notice on the site.
